Cyberlink Codec
High Quality MP3 Codec
The professional Cyberlink MP3 codec adds 'broadcastable' quality MP3 file encoding to your
Windows computer. The default codec supplied with Windows only records up to 56Kbps, installing
this version adds the capability of 320Kbps recording (as well as lower bit-rates).
This Codec is supported by all Windows applications that utilize the Windows Audio Compression
Manager, including SkimmerPlus and Simian (when switched to 'automatically assigned'). Therefore,
you can record into MP3 format even if your audio card doesn't natively support MP3.
The Cyberlink MP3 codec also works with BSI's Rapid Rip Speedy CD to PC dubbing software, allowing you
to create high-quality MP3 files 'on the fly.' When you use a professional CODEC to convert your song library, you will have consistent, high
fidelity audio. Using audio files created the same way will eliminate headaches about whether
your songs will segue properly as well.
The Cyberlink MPEG software optimizes the quality and performance of the MP3 standard to
enable users to encode high-quality sound without the need for compression hardware.
Quality
Store MORE high quality audio using LESS disk space (up to 10% of original file size).
Stream higher quality audio at lower data rates.
Sample Rates
48, 44.1, 32, 24, 22.05, 16kHz (we recommend using 44.1Khz)
Bitrates
MP3 up to 320 kbps (for bit-rates above 128Kbps there is little advantage in using MP3 as MPEG
Layer 2 will generally provide better quality 'transparent' audio files. See our QDesign codec for
details.)
Requirements
Minimum Recommended System - Windows XP Operating System Pentium III 700 MHz, 256 MB RAM
